Prisoners were held captive in the house's basement in earlier times.
The prison and ancillary rooms were renovated and staged as a museum in 2020. The name for the museum #ploetzhof is a further development of the Plötzhaus, which was named after the waterfall "Plötz". The #ploetzhof museum is a fascinating insight into the world of yesteryear. What was life like at that time, how was a convict fared, how was a court hearing conducted and what punishments could be expected. The second part of the museum is dedicated to the history and development of Hof bei Salzburg. The museum can be easily reached on a hike from the center of Hof, the Fuschlseehiking path or from the P&R parking place. Further information can be found on the website or by calling the Fuschlseeregion tourist office at 06226 / 8384-21.This years opening time is 1st of July to the end of October daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.The museum can be visited independently at any time.
