Beobachtungspunkt II

Hof bei Salzburg, Salzburg, Österreich

Here one can most easily observe him - the Eurasian Curlew, Europe's largest wading bird.

He has a 130 mm long, curved beak with which he probes into the soft moorland in search of worms and insects. His usually four chicks leave the nest already on the first day, shortly after drying out. They become fledglings only after four weeks. After a longer pause, a breeding pair of godwits was observed again for the first time in 2015.
