The newly built forest adventure trail begins at the forest kindergarten in Guggenthal. Five varied forest stations have been set up in the Austrian Federal Forest, designed to engage all the senses. Fairytale stories, images of nature and interesting facts about the natural world are presented on information boards. Visitors can spot and touch forest animals.

The first section of the trail winds gently through a mixed beech forest to the stream. The wooden benches make for a pleasant place to rest. At the stream, during guided forest tours, the five water wheels and channels are set up so that visitors can explore hydropower. At the ‘drawer tree’, you can discover the weight of beech wood and feel what is hidden inside the tree.
The adventure trail now becomes a little more challenging. Dexterity is required when climbing up the tree flute to reach the balancing station. Here, the information board introduces you to the animals of the forest. A very skilful climber, the black woodpecker, can be found here. Children of all ages can practise their balance here and have a go on the tree-trunk obstacle course. Finally, the route involves a climb over the tree roots up to the paved path. The return route follows the forest road. The nature trail was funded by the Monika Eder Forest Kindergarten. The technical implementation was carried out by the forester and forest educator Barbara Guggenberger-Zobl. Local craftspeople have lovingly designed the stations with wooden art installations.
Climbing fun and a refreshing dip in the stream are guaranteed, making the trail an ideal day-out destination for families.
Guided forest tours and waterwheel-building sessions can be booked all year round.
