Cross country trails in Faistenau

The cross-country skiing trail network in Faistenau, consisting of well-groomed trails with approx. 60 km length (easy to medium difficulty), starts at the sports field directly in the village (cross-country stadium) and leads along the edge of the village into the Tiefbrunnau valley. The cross-country ski runs are all in a sunny location and without major ascents.

In addition to the existing cross-country ski trail network, a night cross-country trail is also offered. The approx. 5 km long Kugelberg trail consists of a classic trail and a skating track and is illuminated daily from dusk until 9 p.m. The entrance is located at the school sports ground.

Kugelberg cross-country trail 5 km – night cross-country

The classic + skating groomed Kugelberg trail with start and finish point at the school is very well suited for sporty beginners with some climbs. It is marked in red and illuminated every evening until 9 pm.

Village cross-country skiing 5 km

The classic + skating-paced village trail with start and finish point at the school or next to Sport Auer is very varied and a bit more demanding with several climbs. The village trail is marked orange and very suitable for experienced cross-country skiers.

Tiefbrunnau cross-country trail 20 km

The classic + skating groomed Tiefbrunnau cross-country trail with start/finish point school or at the two parking lots/cross-country tracks in Tiefbrunnau is very suitable for enduring beginners because of its naturalness as a pleasure trail for persistent beginners and because of its length as a training track for performance-oriented cross-country skiers. It is marked green. Beginners we recommend directly in Tiefbrunnau at the parking lot no. 3 (near kindergarten) or No. 4, here the trails are mostly flat.

cross-country trail in Hintersee, 12 km

The classically groomed trail in the village Hintersee with start and finish point at the community parking lin intersee is very suitable for beginners, it is largely flat with small climbs. In addition, there are 8 km of skating trails near the community center.

Young people up to the age of 15 use the trail for free.
The tickets are available at the Faistenau Tourist Office, directly at the entrance to the cross-country ski runs, at the cashier's desk, at the cross-country ski machine and at the Sporthaus Auer

Free winter shuttle (Postbus line 150/155 /157 from Salzburg - Faistenau - Tiefbrunnau - Hintersee)

At the main entrance of the elementary school Faistenau (in the village centre) all cross-country skiers have shower facilities, changing rooms, toilets, waxbock for ski preparation & lockers.
