The Joseph Mohr Memorial Path was opened in the summer of 2018 and leads from the village center in Hintersee to the Joseph Mohr Memorial Chapel. The six stations are all publicly accessible and equipped with information panels about the individual artworks.

Station 1:

“The Friend of Man” by Veronica Mrazek

The painting in PAN-Art technique on canvas fascinates with its brilliant colors and special depth. The artist and ceramicist focuses on the memory of Joseph Mohr. “Ode to Hintersee” by Bernd Horak

The panoramic painting (mixed technique of oil paint, resins, and UV colors) in the Joseph Mohr Memorial Chapel is a journey of discovery between tradition and modernity. It showcases hidden details of natural elements in the landscape, connected with the themes of the song “Silent Night! Holy Night!” as well as the life of Joseph Mohr in Hintersee. Station 3:

“Joseph Mohr Statue” by Felix Igler

“Tree xylophone” by Martin Ainz

The tree xylophone made of larch wood invites you to make music. Perhaps you can try to play the melody of the “Silent Night” song?
The artist: “This oversized musical instrument brings the sound of wood back into the forest via my craftsmanship.

Station 4:

“Relaxation Lounge” by Michael Ebner

This dynamically constructed lounge made of larch wood is meant to invite visitors of the Joseph Mohr Memorial Path to enjoy nature, free thoughts, and the relaxed listening of music (“Sounding Baptismal Font”). “Sounding Baptismal Font” by Martin Ainz

It consists of an old wooden baptismal font and a tabernacle from the parish church of Hintersee. The original “Silent Night! Holy Night!” melody plays when you press the button. The walkable stone guitar is meant to remind of Joseph Mohr's guitar that accompanied him throughout his life.

“Angel” by Silvia Weinberger

The painting in layer technique was reproduced, digitized, and printed on Aluminum Dibond. The artist's thoughts about this picture: “Joseph Mohr made Hintersee brighter with his love for his neighbor and guitar music. “Joseph Mohr Bust” by Franz Lohninger

The sculptor Franz Lohninger from Neumarkt am Wallersee created the bust in 1985. The new pedestal made of Untersberger marble comes from Bernhard Winkler, establishing a connection to the fountain.
