Free travelling by bus & train

From 1 May 2025, as an overnight guest you can travel free of charge on all public transport in the province of Salzburg - from the day of arrival to the day of departure.
You will receive your ticket directly at your accommodation, digitally on your mobile phone, in the Myfuschlseeregion app or printed out.
The mobility contribution is only € 0.50 per person and night.

**Benefits of the Overnight Stay Tax**

The fees charged per guest and night consist of the general overnight stay tax and the mobility contribution.

**Benefits of the overnight stay tax for guests:**

- Mobility contribution for the Province of Salzburg (public transport)
- Maintenance of tourist infrastructure (Rumingmühle, Ploetzhof, Joseph Mohr Trail, bridges, etc.)
- Contributions to partnerships with Salzkammergut and SalzburgerLand Tourism
- Regional marketing (online, print media, press, TV, podcasts)
- Online data management (website, Google, social media channels)
- Reservation and registration systems (Feratel)
- Creation of information materials and maps (guest guides, directories, hiking & cycling maps)
- Tourism association staff (guest & host services, administration, travel agency, marketing, local support)
- Support for local clubs and traditions (Harvest Festival, traditional costume clubs, Alpine Summer, Perchten customs)
- Organization of events and concerts (Farmers’ Market, Seeblasen, summer concerts, brass band performances, Advent at the Rauchhaus, etc.)
- Insurance coverage for hiking trails (over 1,000 km of trails, cross-country tracks, ski routes, parking areas)

Travelling to the Fuschlseeregion
---------------------------------

The Fuschlseeregion in Salzburger Land is a popular holiday destination and can be reached in various ways: Train, bus, plane or your own car are available for your journey. Particularly active holidaymakers can also arrive by bike via the well-developed network of cycle paths.

An environmentally friendly and comfortable journey by train is made possible by the perfect transport connections to the city of Salzburg. **Salzburg main station** is not far from the city centre and is **only 20 km away from the Fuschlsee region**. From there, you can easily continue your journey by bus or get a taxi. Some hotels also offer a pick-up service from Salzburg railway station.

**Sustainable journey by public bus**

Between the city of Salzburg and Bad Ischl in the Salzkammergut, a well-developed bus network takes you to the Fuschlsee region. **Lines 150, 154** and **155** connect the city of Salzburg directly with the communities in the Fuschlsee region via regular bus connections. The public buses normally run several times a day and take you to the various towns in the region.

**Travelling by plane**

The nearest airport is Salzburg Airport, which is served by various international airlines. From Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart you can travel to the Fuschlsee region by bus, taxi or hire car. Some hotels also offer a pick-up service from Salzburg Airport.

**Travelling by car**

The Fuschlsee region is located around 20 km east of Salzburg and is easy to reach via the A1 motorway (Westautobahn). From the Thalgau exit, the road leads directly to the Fuschlsee region. There are numerous parking spaces available in the Fuschlseeregion. Depending on the location, these are either chargeable or free of charge. For information on tariffs, usage regulations, permitted parking periods, night parking bans, etc., please refer to the information signs on site.
