Located in the mountain world of the Osterhorngruppe and by the idyllic lake, visitors find pure peace and relaxation here. Thus, Hintersee rightfully enjoys its reputation as one of the most versatile lakes in the Salzkammergut. The 5-kilometer long loop trail, suitable for strollers and family-friendly, impresses with its undeveloped, freely accessible shore areas. The crystal-clear bathing lake offers swimming spots and beach resorts with all the extras such as beach volleyball courts, sunbathing lawns, children's playgrounds, petting zoos, rowboats, and more. The alpine area of Hintersee/Faistenau, with its 150 km of hiking trails, is also a paradise for mountain enthusiasts. Quagga mussels and crayfish plague can be inadvertently transferred with water sports, fishing, or diving equipment from one body of water to another. **This is how you can protect Hintersee:** 1.
