Haye  you had enough of racing on the slopes, techno music parties and loud events in huge ski resorts. Just 20 kilometres from the City of salzburg lies the village of Faistenau in the Holiday Region Fuschlsee - the ideal destionation for a gentle winter holiday. But what can you expect to find here?

Early evening when you arrive, the thermometer shows - 12° degrees. However the rooms in the comfortable 4 star Hotel Alte Post in Faistenau are nice and warm and downstairs in the cosy restaurant your dinner awaits you. Perhaps after supperty try a little snowtubing just a few minutes from the village centre. For those who are not so sporty why not enjoy a romantic horse drawn sleigh ride through the winter landscape of Faistenau. The biggest attraction for proffessional and hobby skiers is the 54 kilometres of cross country ski trails. Off differing grades the trails begin from the centre of the village and lead you throuh fantastic scenary.

The next day may be a little more difficult when you join a snow shoe hike through virgin snowfields around Faistenau. Your hotelier Andreas Teufl will make your tour a real experience, and not only the children will enjoy the destination of an alpine hut for refreshments.
