Are you looking for the fitting revier to go angling, fishing or sport fishing? The Fuschlsee Region in the Salzkammergut is the ideal address for you. Whether for relaxation or as a sporting challenge, when fishing in Lake Fuschl and Lake Hintersee the emotions run high. Lake Fuschl is 265 hectare large, 70 m at the deepest point, lies 664 metres above sea level, and is one of the most popular fishing lakes in the Salzkammergut. Here one will find many **species of fish**: lake trout, lake saibling, river trout, white fish, pike, tench, carp, eel, perch, chub and red-eye. In early days Lake Fuschl was the fish provider for the Archbishops of Salzburg. Then sixty years ago, the City of Salzburg made plans to use Lake Fuschl as a drinking water reservoir for the city. The implementation of this project was serious but due to the resistence from the local council the project was prevented. Today Lake Fuschl is looked after by the fish master Gerhard Langmaier and his team. Herr Langmaier is not only responsible for the fish cultivation but also for the direct marketing, fish-processing and finished products. The fishery is also responsible for the fishing permits, administration, organisation and delivery to the gastonomy.
