Traveling sustainably by train

An environmentally friendly and comfortable journey by train is made possible by the perfect transport connections to the city of Salzburg. Salzburg's main train station is located not far from the city center and is only 20 km away from the Fuschlseeregion. From there you can easily continue your journey by bus or get a cab. Some hotels also offer a pick-up service from Salzburg train station.

Sustainable arrival by public bus

Between the city of Salzburg and Bad Ischl in the Salzkammergut region, an excellently developed bus network brings you to the Fuschlseeregion. Lines 150, 154 and 155 connect the city of Salzburg directly with the communities of the Fuschlseeregion via regular bus services. The public buses usually run several times a day and take you to the various towns in the region.

Arriving by plane

The nearest airport is Salzburg Airport, which is served by various international airlines. From Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart you can take a bus, a cab or a rental car to the Fuschlseeregion. Some hotels also offer a pick-up service from Salzburg Airport.

Arrival by car

The Fuschlseeregion is located about 20 km east of Salzburg and is easily accessible via the A1 freeway (Westautobahn). From the Thalgau exit, the road leads directly to the Fuschlsee region. The regional bus network is well developed and offers a climate-friendly and uncomplicated way to reach all destinations between Salzkammergut and Salzburg City with lines 150, 154 and 155. Salzburg Leisure Ticket

Since 1 July, Salzburg has been offering a leisure ticket for € 19 for 2 persons and up to 4 children.

The ticket is valid all day on all public transport that is not ÖBB long-distance transport. The Salzburg/Upper Austrian border area is also well served. Here is the link to "Where is the Freizeit-Ticket valid?
